A new idea for a different kind of holiday which combines history, sport and nature in Italy. Lucio Piazzi, the owner of the travel agency Geotur, together with Massimo Malaguti, national instructor for the Italian Mountain Bike Association, have planned various itineraries, drawing on their own personal experience in tourism. The itineraries are mostly off road, in line with the philosophy of travelling by mountain bike, in order to rediscover nature and a culture which sometimes seems to have disappeared. Hermitages, monasteries, villages and castles can be visited, some of which can only be reached on horseback, on foot or by mountain bike. These itineraries are, doubtless, an unusual way of visiting the green and historical heart of Italy.
